Making Candy

About a week ago Grandma Nana sent the kids a package in the mail and inside was a candy making kit. The kids were so excited and love the little projects Nana sends our way. So on Tuesday we got the supplies out and the kids used their creativity.

I was really impressed at how well they all did in making the chocolate suckers and it was easy enough they all could participate. Each of the kids made suckers for the neighbors and when they were all done, they loaded up their baskets with the treats and delivered them. It really was a fun project that we all enjoyed.

She got me!

In honor of April Fool's Day, my little Macy played a prank on me. I was pouring Abby some LIFE Cereal and out came Rice Krispies. I was very confused, and had forgotten it was April Fool's Day. But Macy sure got a kick out of that and was giggling uncontrollably. She had switched the bags of cereal and put them in the wrong box. Watch out for Macy, she absolutely loves a good joke!

Oregon Istooks

My oldest brother, Butch, and his family came to Utah for their Spring Break. We were able to spend some fun time with them and enjoy their company. The kids loved getting to see their cousins who we haven't seen for 2 1/2 years. Wow! Those who live close to their family, I envy you.

A Quick Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Udy were passing through Utah a few weekends ago and stopped by for the night with us. We love when they come to see us and the kids were thrilled! We love you.

What will $.25 get you?

A ticket to the BYU vs. Utah baseball game. With a price like that, you "have" to go.

Happy Birthday Ty!

Yesterday was Tyler's 1st birthday. My baby is growing up way too fast and is just as precious and sweet. We had a simple celebration with the family and enjoyed every minute sharing this special day with him.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Udy as well as Nana and Pops for the special birthday gifts.

I thought every 1 year old was supposed to enjoy their birthday cake and devour it to pieces, but Tyler wanted his cake no where near his mouth. One bite was enough for him and he actually spit it out! What kid doesn't like chocolate frosting??!! (Duncan Hines makes dairy free cake mixes as well as frosting) If you notice, his face is practically clean and all he did to the cake was poke holes all over.

We soon found out that Happy Birthday is Tyler's new favorite song. Every time we sang to him, his face lit up with the biggest grin ever.

We love you Ty and are so thankful to have you in our family. You bring so much happiness to us all!

This last picture was just too funny not to share!

A Sweet Experience

Last week our family had a special experience, and we were all able to attend the Open House of the new Draper, Utah temple. All four kids, Clint and myself got to experience the beautiful temple up close and walk through each of the magnificent rooms. I really think the kids felt the special spirit there and loved the opportunity to be able to go inside the temple.

When we got to the Celestial Room we all sat down on a couch together and marveled at the beauty in that room. Hanging from the ceiling was the biggest and most beautiful chandelier I have ever seen. I looked over at Macy sitting next to me and noticed tears in her eyes. I asked her what she was feeling inside and she said she felt the most incredible feeling that she couldn't explain. Her words brought tears to my eyes and I just think of how all six of us sitting there on the couch together is just a foreshadowing of how we will be a family together forever for the eternities.
