Happy Birthday Clint

Monday was Clint's 33rd birthday. Yikes, did I say 33. Wow, we are getting old. Anywho, since he and the kids both had the day off we all enjoyed a relaxing day at home. Clint spent time organizing the basement, the kids spent the day making cards for him and later that afternoon we all went to the movies together. Happy birthday Clint, you are one awesome guy. Love ya!

Does this make me a loser?

Last Wednesday was a long day for me. Busy, busy, busy. I had just gotten all the kids to bed and was sitting down to relax when I started thinking. I needed some time for me and to have a break. So around 9:45 that evening I decided I would go see a movie, by myself. I told Clint my idea and he thought I was silly. But I hadn't seen the Twilight movie yet, my mind was made up, and I was off to the 10:30 pm showing. While buying my ticket the cashier mentioned to me, "I hope you don't like crowded theaters." I asked him if there were a lot of people watching it and he said, "You are the only one."

So I had my own private viewing of Twilight and I loved it. I sat back with my feet on the seat in front of me and candy in tow. I enjoyed every minute of it.

So that brings me to the question, Does this make me a loser? I like to think I deserved this little time-out for myself.

Sucked In

I told my self that I would not do it, not at all. But due to my weakness, it happened. I got sucked in. I became one of those crazy individuals who couldn't get enough of the Twilight Series, and I loved every minute of it.

So sorry to my kids who have been somewhat without a mom these last few weeks, sorry to my once clean house, sorry to my neglected husband, and sorry for my lame excuses as to "What's for dinner?"

But, I am finished and I have the non-stop reading out of my system. I loved the books and a big thanks to my awesome neighbor, Rachel, for letting me borrow her copies. I just couldn't wait for them at the library!

Merry "Late" Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and enjoyed their time with family. Having such a crazy December made Christmas feel a little off this year but we did still enjoy our time with each other. Here are some pics of our Christmas.

The day after Christmas we all headed down to St. George for the Annual Udy Christmas Party and this year we added a Udy Talent Show. It was quite entertaining. Both of our girls sang songs in Spanish, Clint read a poem and the only thing I could think of was to do a cheer from High School. I have no talent!

While in St. George Clint and I celebrated 10 years of marriage. Wow! 4 kids and 10 years together. Time has gone by fast, but I am grateful for Clint and the wonderful husband and father he is to our family.

Finally Finished!

Part of the reason we had such a hectic December was our hurried finish of the basement in time for company over Christmas. We completed 2 bedrooms, a family room and a great hall closet. I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it is to have the extra space and to be able to tell the kids to go downstairs and play. It's like a little bit of heaven!

Macy Turns 8

Yes this is a few weeks late, but we have had quite a busy month. I am glad December is over, but none the less we made many wonderful memories.

Macy turned 8 the middle of December and has been looking forward to this day for about a year now. We tried to make it special for her and to help celebrate she invited a few friends over to spend the afternoon.

Then this last weekend we had her baptism. My parents came from the D.C. area for her special day and the rest of the family traveled from Idaho and St. George. It really was a special day and I am so proud of Macy and the beautiful girl she has become.

For Macy's baptism I wanted so much to make her a special quilt to remind her of the gift of the Holy Ghost. So Friday afternoon my mom and I got the material and started cutting out squares and later that evening Clint's parents came to stay the night. Grandma Udy pinned the whole quilt, while my mom sewed and I ironed and stitched a bottom corner with Macy's name. We all three worked hard on that quilt and had it completed in about 7 hours. It really was a whirlwind but we got it done in time for the baptism. Thank you Grandma Nana and Grandma Udy for your tremendous help. It turned out beautiful!
