Girl Trip!

Every year the girls in my family get together for a fun-filled, girls only, no kids, getaway. This year our destination of choice was Las Vegas. My mom, Diana, and I drove from Salt Lake to Vegas and picked my sister, Emily, up at the airport in Vegas. (My sister-in-law Jo could not come this time because she had a baby just a few months ago and could not leave her for that length of time) We had a wonderful time and met some very interesting individuals while there.

Here are some of the highlights from our trip:

Our first night in Vegas we spent at the Mirage watching the Cirque Du' Soleil performance of "LOVE." It was a very entertaining show and was set to the music of the Beatles. I would highly recommend this show to anyone. The performers were very daring with their stunts, and I was entertained the entire night!

Because of my high blood pressure with this pregnancy, my Dr. has ordered me to stay off of my feet as much as possible. Having been to Vegas before, I knew that a lot of walking would be involved. But my Dr. had told me it's either stay off of my feet or go on bed rest, so the alternative was to find a wheelchair. My mom and sisters definitely had a workout pushing me from place to place, but we did get this cute photo out of the situation!
Our second day in Vegas we went to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum and had so much fun there. Diana and I were able to pose as George Clooney's pregnant brides. Apparently the museum doesn't provide maternity wedding dresses for props so we look quite obese in this photo. But I don't think that Mr. Clooney minded one bit.

Every girl trip includes matching pajama's and a pizza party.

Baby Shower and Sprinkle

While Diana was in Utah we had a baby shower for her, and being the nice sister that she is, she decided that something should be done for me as well. Apparently when I was expecting my first, my family failed to throw me a baby shower, and I have given them a hard time about that ever since. But there is an unwritten rule that you can only have one baby shower and that is to be with your first baby. Seeing how I am having our fourth, they decided to give me a "sprinkle" instead of a shower. Diana wrote this cute poem to go along with the invites to her shower:

Seven years ago Amy's first was born.
And somehow, neglectful we, failed to adorn
With a shower of bottles and blankies and other baby booty.
Alas, the hour is here to finally fulfill our duty.

The time is gone for a full-blown shower,
But opening the gift-heaven is still within our power.
All she needs is a little sprinkle of joy
To help her raise her new little boy.

Please join us in our celebration
With good food and games and even better conversation.
Amy Udy's Baby Sprinkle will be held at the same place and hour
As Diana Abbott's very own Baby Shower.

We really had a fun afternoon and Diana was very blessed with the gifts that were given to her. I too received some very cute things and am very grateful for everyone's generosity.

Pregnant Sisters!

I have been meaning to post this picture for some time, but I have been a busy little bee these last few weeks. This pic was taken Christmas Day with my sister who is 29 weeks pregnant and me at 28 weeks pregnant.

Although Diana is a few days ahead of me in her pregnancy, it is almost for sure that I will have my baby first. I get high blood pressure with my pregnancies and because of that I will at least go 2 weeks early. That will put us the first week of March. It will be here before we know it!

It was so much fun having Diana in town over the holidays. We really had some good laughs together.
